Disc Jam

Official Trailer

What kind of Coop Game is this?

Disc Jam is a futuristic, sports game that plays similar to tennis video games. You throw a hovering disc over a net. Not technically a coop a game but the doubles mode offers surprising tactical depth.

Why you should coop this:

You should coop this because this game is better and deeper than in looks. we only play this in Doubles so 2 vs 2 or 2 vs random online teams (The PS4 version offers many options in online , sadly the switch version does not! Playing with two people online on one team against randoms is not possible on switch) Playing against other teams shows how many tactics are viable and how you can adapt to other peoples playstyles. Teams that annihilate you are slowly crumbling when you adapt and optimize your game. When we grew up we loved playing Virtua Tennis 2 on Dreamcast 2 vs 2 in a big group of friends and this seems like a modern version of this. It is fast and it gets more tense with every throw since the score given for each point is raised everytime the disc goes over the net. There were matches were one point can win you the whole set since it has passed the net so often – in these situation the pressure is palpable. In terms of coop this only qualifies because of the team mode where you have to stand correctly, close your openings and generally adapt to your team partner. It is an evergreen on coop meet-ups since we love to pit 2player teams against each other as a palate cleanser between longer games. We bought this often since we got it for free on PS4 and wanted to support the Devs so we bought the far inferior switch version also.

Shortcomings:

The game is insanely ugly. Seriously look at it. It is a insult to the eyes. The character models seem as if developers tried to see how ugly they can make the models. The only redeeming thing is that its ugliness stays funny. Also the switch version lacks some important online features. Also it is not really a coop game and just a sports game with a doubles mode: This is the reason why we said maximum coop players are 2, although you can play it with 4 players and two teams as well – so be aware of that.

Cooperative or Multiplayer Game?

Many games that are listed as Coop are games were you rather play together with players playing simultaneously. The true cooperative element comes in with working together, coordination and good teamwork. Both types are viable and can be great fun. Our aim is to let you know how this game handles this.
