Why you should coop this:

This great coop game clearly was developed with coop gameplay in mind. The great gimmick this game has is already in the title: both characters you and your coop partner play are biped and have two feet that are controlled separately. This control scheme really feels new and innovative since each control stick is one leg and can be held in any direction, connects to the surface once you let go of the stick or can hold on to a surface with a button press to anchor yourself. The coop mainly consists of puzzly coordination where you have to attune your movements with your partner and walk in accord or out of sync depending on the challenge. This can be tough when the surface only allows for two simultaneous contacts and you have to walk over it together – you really have to synchronize your brains and find your team’s inner rhythm to advance. The actions that you are expected to perform and the levels itself are extremely creative – you drive a boat, swing a pendulum, walk over giant seesaws, move big tubes and spheres or even have some pinball mechanics. This small selection is not even spoilery since almost every level introduces new mechanics – and no mechanic overstays its welcome.
The coop itself is great because you absolutely win or lose as a team. When one player proceeds without its partner in mind, they might reach the goal but will sacrifice their partner and cannot continue on alone. This is difficult but super fair since everything you have managed – pushed a button, got a collectible – you keep even when you die. The coop has two main parts: figuring out what to do and then being able to perform the solution – so a puzzly brain part and a controller-skilfulness part – the latter is the bigger one.
The graphics are also very good since they look neat and techno-cuddly but also communicate very well what you are supposed to do and are not to overloaded or cluttered. Also the optics are enhanced by small things like the biped robots doing pirouettes when they slide down something and you being able to move faster in a skating style. Some breakneck saves and last second synchronisation make for really cool gaming moments.

Shortcomings:

Maybe it is a little on the short side with 4hrs of playtime and you might wish that some mechanics would be explored even more but this is grasping for shortcoming-straws.

Cooperative or Multiplayer Game?

The true cooperative element comes in with working together, coordination and good teamwork. Both types are viable and can be great fun. Our aim is to let you know how this game handles this. Team Award

This is pure coop. If you and your partner do not stick and work together you will not succeed. You are only as good or bad as your partner. it is really interessting what intuitive things develop between the players – we found an inner rythm and synched so much that some things were easier as they should be. Play this with good friends and remember that you love each other.
